Product Information
Octamethyltrisiloxane, also known as L3 or MDM, is a linear volatile methylsiloxane with a Si-O backbone and methyl groups. It is used as an intermediate for PDMS polymers and silicone mixtures, and as a light silicone carrier in applications requiring good spreading, low viscosity and volatility.
Typical Applications
- Ingredient or intermediate for preparing PDMS polymers, silicone fluids and silicone mixtures.
- Carrier or solvent for personal care, coating and specialty silicone formulations.
- Processing aid for formulations that require low viscosity and fast spreading.
- Used in surface treatment, cleaning and specialty organosilicon applications.
